Friday Free For All…..Volume 2.0
Geeks, Hoes, sketch balls and Joes….Thank God it is Friday…. That’s all I’m saying. It has been a long, crappy, bad weather week. I’m looking forward to a great Halloween weekend back home in the great state of South Carolina with friends and family. Again another great weekend of football is ahead….But as usual; the best thing about Friday is the Friday Free for ALL….Enjoy Skeezers….
Top 3Things I’m looking forward to this weekend:
1. Georgia vs. Florida- Write this down, or take a picture, because this is a statement that I doubt will ever come out of my mouth again. “I am a HUGE Georgia Bulldog Fan this weekend!” Let’s go Bulldogs. A Georgia win would be massive in the South Carolina quest for the SEC Championship game. With a loss, Florida would have 4 loses in the SEC. Georgia would improve to 4-3. South Carolina, if they don’t lay a goose egg, SHOULD improve to 4-2, with the tiebreaker over Georgia. Essentially, if Georgia wins, it is a huge help for THE GAMECOCKS.
2. Halloween- Let’s just be honest, when we were younger, Halloween was so that we could go around all collect as much candy as possible. But as an adult, Halloween means one thing, it means every girl, even the good girls, have an excused night to make the most non slutty outfit as slutty as possible. What is better than that?
3. Callie Shannon Wilson- Alright listen, I don’t usually get all mushy and emotionally, but how often does your lil sister have her first daughter. Now I don’t know when she is going to make her grand entrance, sometime this week, but either way I’m happy for Robbie and Kristen….Uncle Jason in the House……
Top 3 things that have pissed me off this week:
1. Cliff Lee- Really, you wait all this time to lead a franchise into the World Series and you collapse faster than the Cowboys Practice Facility. I guess since you pitched brilliantly against the Yankees, knowing fully you will be playing in the pinstripes next year, that you figured the hell with the rest of the season. You remind me of Kenny Powers, telling his agent he is sick of being in Texas, and to get him paid bitch. Just remember, you are about to sign with a team who’s fans spit on your wife….I’m just saying….
2. Female Football Commentators – Look, I have no problem with females in sports. I’m down with the WNBA, Title 9, and all that other jazz. Look if a female John Wall comes along and can hang with Kobe and Chris Paul, then that would be bad ass, do your thing Shorty…. But is there not anyone else on the planet we can get to do Tuesday night football commentary for the Boise State vs. whatever Louisiana High School team they played? I would have done it for free. I just cannot have a woman who clearly does not know her football tell me why she believes Boise State can hang with some of the best teams in the country. ESPN, step your game up, seriously.
3. Meathead at the gym who carries a gym bag and a gallon of water- You go to the gym for a purpose. To work out, and check out the hotties on the treadmills. But I’m going to be honest, If I have to see one more dude carrying around an enormous gym bag, rocking a gallon of water, I’m going to go lose my mind. What could you possibly need in a gym that would necessitate an entire bag? And what is wrong with the normal size water bottle? Is there a problem with refilling at the fountain? Seriously…. Tell me that doesn’t piss you off? And to make matters worse, come up to me one more time and ask me how many reps I got left? I purposely do extra reps just to be an ass when this goes down.
Youtube Clips of the week:
I’m a fan of old school wrestling from back in the early 90’s. This clip is classic. If you have ever wondered why all wrestling events require all floor chairs to be tied together now, this is why:
And Finally-
Big Game Predictions for the Weekend, if you don’t agree, tell me. I was also informed by a fellow BRO that I wasn’t Bro enough if I didn’t Pick against the spread. The spread is now added…..
#7 Missouri vs. #14 Nebraska – Nebraska is giving 7.5 at home, yea I’ll take Nebraska. Missouri is overrated.
#3 Auburn vs. Ole Miss- Sorry Ole Miss, your defense sucks more than a Dyson vacuum. I’ll take Auburn and give you the 7.
#1 Oregon vs. #24 USC- Not too sure how USC is ranked, but Oregon’s offense is sick-nasty. I’ll take Oregon and gladly give them the 6.5. Hell I’ll give them 16.5.
Georgia vs. Florida- This is a Massive game for the Gamecocks. Since the spread is only 2 points, and I’m hoping Georgia goes to Jacksonville and does work. I’ll take Georgia.
South Carolina vs. UCheat – This is a tough one for me to pick. I’m going to take Tenn. The spread is 18. South Carolina just doesn’t usually do work but 18 or more. Let’s go Cocks though…..
As always, it’s been a pleasure. Leave a comment if you disagree with anything I got to say, and I’ll prove to you why you are wrong….. Check in again Monday Suckazzzzz.

SEC and Falcons Recap, World Series Prediction
SEC and Falcons Recap, World Series Prediction
Everyone knows the SEC is the biggest baddest conference in College Football and if you don’t like it suck on some stats:
-The last 4 National Champions have come from the SEC (Florida, LSU, Florida, and Alabama)
-The SEC has had the most players drafted into the NFL in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 and only twice since 1998 has the SEC not lead all conferences in players drafted.
-8 coaches are in the top 20 of highest paid. You could argue that this doesn’t mean they are the best but you’re wrong. The BEST coaches want to coach in the BEST conference (outside of Texas, OK, and USC)
Like most of you I live for Saturdays. Nothing beats sitting around drinking some good ol fashioned American Brewhaha, armchair coaching like your Tom Landry, yelling to your wife “make me a pie woman” and watching football.
Arkansas vs. Mississippi: I really could care less about this SEC game but I watched it since it’s either that or listen to Dike McGee over on the 4 letter network. “Hi it’s Pam Ward for the noon tilt between Purdue and Ohio State.” Pam Ward should only be doing WNBA and women’s Lacrosse games for obvious reasons. Arkansas is really pretty good. If they could ever improve their D they might make some noise. Mallett can chuck it and did so early leading to a 21-0 lead. Prisoner 245675A led a furious comeback but Ole Miss falls short 38-24.
Auburn vs. LSU: “The Tigers will win today.” Quote from my boy Verne Lundquist. Actually he’s not my boy at all and throws out these stupid little comments all game so he and Gary Danielson can play footsie with their back and forth commenting all game. Anyway, Cam Newton is in full on Beast Mode. The guy is 6’6 and weighs 250, and he’s a freaking QB. He’s clearly going to win the Heisman and he deserves it. He has ALREADY set the single season rushing record for a QB in the SEC in 8 games. That’s pretty decent. LSU is good and all but their offense is bad. How they can’t put together a good offense is beyond me. Russell Shepard if im not mistaken was a top 3 QB and they moved him to WR!?!?! Seems like a good idea. Regardless Auburn ran for like 3 miles so that’s never good when you’re trying to win a football game. Les Miles is the luckiest bastard I know and it finally ran out on him. “Have a great Day Les”.
Georgia vs. Kentucky: I will be honest I didn’t watch all that much of this game since it was on the same time as the USC/Vandy game. Georgia basically beat the doodoo out of Kentucky like Carolina should have so I give them props on that. Georgia is slowly turning its season around and incredibly is still very much alive for the SEC east title.
Tenn vs. Alabama: “The third Saturday in October” was an absolute beat down in the 2nd half. Tennessee is pretty awful and will get beat down again next weekend at Carolina. I still can’t figure out why Alabama is still ranked where they are. They should be ranked ahead of Boise and TCU. What a crock of shit.
Vandy vs. S.Carolina: I contemplated watching Pam Ward’s “Call me Lenny DIKEstra” documentary instead of this game. My God was it boring as hell. Outside of watching Steve Spurrier throw his visor a few times this was a total waste of my time.
Miss. State vs. UAB: What a doozy here. Again, the Pam Ward DVD was calling my name but I turned it down. By the way, Miss. State is now ranked for those of you who don’t know.
The Atlanta Falcons returned home after getting drilled by the Eagles last week in Philly. This was a big game as the Falcons could feel good about themselves being 5-2 going in their bye week with a win. I will say that they came out and played the best half of football I have seen a Falcon team play in a while. The offense was unstoppable, the defense was great and everything was running smoothly. What I like most is that when Cincinnati made that frenetic comeback in the 3rd quarter the Falcons answered when they needed to. Roddy White is a baller. He doesn’t need to send T-shirts to get himself ready to open a can on the DB’s of Cincy. However a “Do Work Bro” T-shirt from Bro Nameth would have been sweet.
Quick World Series Prediction for you:
-Rangers in 6 with Cliff Lee being WS MVP going 2-0 with a 1.43 ERA
-Josh Hamilton hits 2 dingers and Vlad Guerrero hits over .300

Happy Crappy Monday
Happy Crappy Monday Morning……
Another fun weekend in the books, and another crappy Monday Morning is here. After a much talked about and anticipated trip to Nashville to see Eason-Welch and the Gamecocks do work, I ended up not being able to make the trip. I’m still pretty pissed about it, not just because I couldn’t go, but also because I have my two tickets I paid for sitting on my desk. So this morning is an exceptionally Crappy Monday Morning…. But the good news is I’ve got a hot and fresh top 10 for your pleasure…. Enjoy.
1. BCS Getting Things Right again….
The second week of the BCS standings are out, and I’m happy to see the results. Auburn has leapfrogged everyone is now the New #1. Start your whining TCU and Boise State. Why did Auburn get the nod for #1? It’s because they play tough, actual opponents each and every week. Teams in the SEC do not have the luxury of playing High Schools and Cupcakes each and every week. I think “The Nature Boy” Rick Flair said it best, To Be the Man, you got to Beat the Man. You don’t get rewarded for beating no name colleges, put some teams on your schedule then I’ll listen to your arguments. Auburn racked up 440 yards of rushing offense against LSU Saturday, the most ever allowed by LSU. By the way, LSU has the number one rushing defense in the SEC, like Rick said, to be the best you got to beat the best.
2. When I’m right, I’m right…..
If you read my Friday morning weekend preview, you had a chance to check out my picks for the weekend. If you didn’t read it, you mean nothing to me. My partner in crime Chris told me I was nuts that Missouri would knock off Oklahoma. I hate to brag but Chris, that happened. I ended up going 6-1 for the weekend, only losing the Georgia game, which I really only picked because of my hatred for UGA and their fan base of which 90% not only didn’t go to UGA, but didn’t go to college at all. One more game I had picked and it’s tonight Giants vs. Cowgirls game.
Giants > Cowgirls.
3. Second Chances, everyone deserves them….
2010, the Year of the Redo. Over the weekend, I realized that some people are making good out of their second or third chances. Mike Williams, the former #1 Draft Choice of the Lions, is starting to look like a Good WR in Seattle. Once he was drafted in the NFL, he got fat, lazy, and out of shape. He was arguably one of the biggest bust ever. But the kid is doing work with his second chance, catching 11 balls yesterday for 88 yards and a touchdown. Adam “Pacman” Jones, is doing the same in Cincinnati. The kid sat out of football for a year, was arrested like 21 times, and could have cared less about his football career. But Sunday he returns a kickoff 82 yards, and has a fumble recovery for a touchdown. And MV7, Michael Vick, we have all witnessed his resurrection up in Philly.
4. The Bigger they are, the Harder they fall….
So I was wrong about one thing this weekend. Take notes because it doesn’t happen to o often. But Brock Lesnar got his ass handed to him Saturday night. I didn’t get to see it live, but the replay shows it wasn’t even close. The guy didn’t even last the entire first round. Oh well, it was still def. entertaining.
5. McDonalds….
Let me tell you something that really pisses me off. You have a late night meal at the Golden Arches, after a night out with friends, and all you want is the item that is advertised on every window of the entire restaurant. You go to order your large Sweet Tea, and they say they don’t have any made. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but how hard is it to Brew Sweet Tea? If your ass is too lazy to make it, then don’t advertise it. That’s all I’m saying.
6. The NHL Season Has Kicked OFF!
Who Cares, Next Topic.
7. Roddy White is a Stud….
Roddy White proved yesterday that he is one of the top 3 receivers in the league. The guy makes a comment this week, saying he doesn’t even know the names of the DB’s for the Bengals, but he is going to go out there and do work all over them Sunday. Well he did just that, to the tune of 11 receptions, 201 yards, and 2 Touchdowns. The kid makes it look so easy. I’m still trying to figure out how USC let him leave the state of South Carolina after High School and go to UAB? Slide over Andre Johnson, you’re going to have to make room at the top.
8. The Quack Attack…..
So I give the Pac-10 a lot of crap, because honestly I think they play soft football and they have some pretty bad teams out west. But I watched the Oregon Game Thursday night, and they are pretty damn good. Their offense is a machine. After they run a play, they sprint to the new line of scrimmage and get set in their base formation. They then look over to the sideline, where a backup QB is holding up a poster with four random pictures. I mean random, one had a 4 leaf clover, Lee Corso, a grizzly bear, and a rainbow. Once the board is shown, the ball is snapped, with 20 seconds left on the play clock. The Oregon head coach said that if the ball is snapped with less than 15 seconds left on the clock, he is upset. Their offense smoked the ball up and down the field. I’m going to be honest, I would love to see their offense go up against a nasty SEC defense. If they play Auburn in the BCS title game, I’m predicting a final score of 55-49, with over 1000 yards combined.
9. World Series Pick…….
Since the Braves didn’t have a chance in hell of winning a playoff series, because Bobby Cox thinks that winning the regular season every year is more important, I’m glad to see that the Giants and Rangers are going to do Battle. If I have to make a pick, I’m pulling for the Rangers. The team has never been to the “ship” before, and I’m down for the new guy winning it all. Josh Hamilton=Stud. By the way, he is a free agent; I’d love to see that guy set up shop in Turner Field for the next 5 or 6 years. Doubtful, but I can hope right. The series goes 6 games, and the Rangers bring home the trophy.
10. Playing to the Competition…
I’m still trying to figure this one out. Why is it that when the Gamecocks play the number one team in the nation, they look like one of the most impressive teams in the nation. But when we play worst team in the SEC, we look like one of the worst teams in the SEC? South Carolina has been like this as long as I can remember. Look at this season, we play a pretty good Georgia, and beat up on Georgia. We go to Auburn at night, and play a damn good team, and we hung in there until the end. Then we come home and play Furman, and look like a division 2 school. One time can we just rise up and go on the road and play like a good football team. Yes I know we won, and yes I know we didn’t have Lattimore, but seriously, we should have been able to go to Nashville and win easily….
There you go boys and girls; there is your Top Ten for the week. Check back in Friday Morning for the Friday Free For All. I got to give a special shout out to Meghan McClamb and Schmee…. Thanks for the support ladies.
Leave me your thoughts and comments on the facebook post…. See you all Friday morning Suckazzzzzz.

Friday Free For All
Friday Free For All…..
It’s Friday morning; you should all know what that means. It means you are sitting at your desk starring at the clock in the bottom right of the computer, acting like you are doing something important, waiting for the right moment for you to sneak out that extra 10 minutes early, so you can try and beat the traffic home. Or, you may be sitting in a classroom, listening to a professor talk about all kinds of sh*t that you could care less about, because you are too busy trying to figure out what happened last night, where your debit card is, and who that person is that you woke up next to this morning.
But the best thing about Friday, the absolute best thing, is that it’s time for the first of many weekend outlooks from yours truly…. Enjoy….
Top 3Things I’m looking forward to this weekend:
1. Auburn vs. LSU- The opportunity to see Cam Newton lay the smack down on LSU. I don’t like LSU, and I can’t stand Les Miles. If I was half as lucky as Les Miles, right now I would be writing this in a hot tub at The Palms in Vegas with three strippers named Candy, Destiny, and Sunshine.
2. Lesnar vs. Velasquez- Yea I’m down with the UFC, I love any opportunity to drink beer and watch two guys beat the hell out of each other. I’m taking Lesnar in this fight, because he is a badass, he’s definitely jacked up on something, and his wife is smoking hot.
3. Eason-Welch- The most underrated music group in Nashville. If you have not heard of them, you need to check them out on Facebook. Give them a shout; let them know you heard about them from Bro Nameth Sports.
Top 3 things that have pissed me off this week:
1. Bret Favre and his package- Look Brett, I’ve put up with retirement, no retirement, retirement, no retirement over the last 3 years. But the last mental picture I wanted in my head watching Sportscenter every morning is text message photos of your package. And I hate to tell you Grandpa, but that chick from the Jets was a Dime Piece, you didn’t have a chance unless you threw her some of that green you got.
2. James Harrison- Retirement? Really? You are going to retire over a $75,000 fine for a dangerous hit? You’re scheduled to make 20 Million dollars over the next three years. There wasn’t a chance on this planet you were going to retire.
3. Stephen Garcia QB, South Carolina- I know I’m beating a dead horse here, but lobbing the ball for anyone to grab on the last play of the game? Thinking about it pisses me off.
Best Stat I’ve heard over the last week:
· The SEC West has 5 out of 6 teams ranked in the AP top 25. That is more teams than the entire Big East, and More teams then both conferences in the ACC combined. BOOOOOMMM
Youtube Clips of the week:
You need a good laugh, just watch this moron on QVC. I could watch it over and over honestly.
And Finally- Big Game Predictions for the Weekend, if you don’t agree, tell me….
Auburn over LSU
Cocks over Commies
Nebraska over Oklahoma State
Alabama over Tennessee
Missouri upsets Oklahoma
Kentucky over Georgia
Dirty Birds over TO-CHO
Giants over Cowgirls
As always, it’s been a pleasure. Leave a comment if you disagree with anything I got to say, and I’ll prove to you why you are wrong….. Check in again Monday Suckazzzzz.

The NFL is going to screw themselves....UGA shut up already
The NFL is going to start "fining" players like a mofo for what they deem "hard hits". Is this not the most ridiculous thing you have heard in your life? Regardless of what the NFL or anyone else thinks, football is a collision sport. A very violent collision sport. Regardless of wether you add these new rules someone could die at any point. If you dont like it then dont play football! "Hitting a defenseless receiver", what does that even mean? Correct me if im wrong but any receiver who raises his arms to catch a ball is defenseless. You cant start fining these guys for stuff they have been doing all their lives. This last weekend I agree that the hits Jerome Harrison and Brandon Merriweather laid out were bad and should be penalized. Merriweather blatently lead with his helmet and thus should be fined and possibly suspended. He clearly was trying to hit Heap in the helmet as it couldnt have been more obvious. Jerome Harrison the same thing applies. Please stop this BS about you retiring! Everyone knows your not retiring. Where else are you going to work making 1/10 of the salary you are now? Get out of here with that crap. The Dunta Robinson, while it looked horrible, was completely legal. He hit him in the upper chest leading with his shoulder/head. Just bc Desean Jackson weighs 180 lbs soaking wet is not Robinsons problem. Robinsons shoulder pads rose up into Jacksons chin and when I saw it live I thought Jackson was dead on impact. The game moves so fast that these players dont have time to react. It sounds as if I am both for and both against it. Heres my point. With these new rules once a precedent is set the same backlash has to be the same. Once you fine a player for a "specific" type of hit, you have to do it everytime. This is only going to escalate and sooner or later there will be a player fined each week. Look wehat happened to the QB rules. You cant even go near a QB now without the possibility of being penalized 15 yards and getting fined. If the NFL wants to implement this policy they need to be very clear on what is wrong and what is ok. Not this vague "hitting a defenseless receiver" BS they have now. Clearly define what is going to be fined and get it right now before it gets out of hand. You can almost gaurantee that their will be a lockout now. The players are going to revolt against this and throw that in with the fact they have already been at odds with the owners regarding the labor talks and you got a recipe for disaster.
I really really dislike the Georgia Bulldogs! "Sic em dawgs beat Arkansas". Nope. "Sic em dawgs beat South Carilina. Yo no creo. "Sic em dawgs beat Miss. State". Thanks for playing. "Sic em dawgs beat Colorado". HAHAHAHA. Congratulations you have beaten Tennessee and Vanderbilt back to back games. EWWWWW big timing now. The worst part about living in Atlanta is listening to all of the ridiculous Georgia fans who call in and ruin every sports talk show in the city. "Georgias back we drubbed vandy and tenn yahhhhhhh cmonnnn bark bark bark bark". Thats the nonsense that fills the airwaves on a daily basis now. Shutup already. Your average as hell and even if you beat Florida (which who knows) Auburn is going to beat you down 2 weeks later. Is 7-5 a good season?? Apparentally it is. Mark Richt can't coach the first 5 games but now all of a sudden hes righted the ship? You beat TENN and Vandy! The worst TENN team in a decade and a team that needs no introduction to being the worst SEC team football wise in Vandy. You really thought you were going to compete for the SEC title with a freshman QB? "Its all bc AJ Green wasnt there". Actually you had AJ Green back against the almighty Colorado Buffalo's and STILL lost. TO COLORADO! It obviously didn't help that he was out but cmon. All of the "good" teams you have played so far you gave lost to outside of Colorado. So continue to feel good about yourselves for beating Tennessee and Vandy and LA Monroe. Enjoy the Poinsetta Bowl.

Happy Crappy Monday
Happy Crappy Monday to all of you. Today marks the first of many rants and raves that will cover the past weekend’s events in the Downtown Atlanta are involving Sports, Entertainment, and whatever else deserves to be mentioned. Each Monday Morning, I will cover the Top 10 things that have caught my attention over the weekend, and explain why they deserve to be discussed. Feel Free to comment or send an email response if you have a different opinion on the matter, we would love to hear you complain…….
And now… The Top 10 from the weekend…. Courtesy of yours truly…..
1. Michael Turner, It is week 6
Can someone please let Michael Turner know that the NFL season has begun, and he needs to start playing. Yet again, the Falcons traveled to Philadelphia and was beat down like a red headed stepchild. Michael Turner, who was a stud only 2 years ago, rocked the rushing column with 45 yards rushing. That’s not going to get it done in the NFL. Along with the MIA rushing game, if I have to see Matt Ryan throw a swing pass or check down one more time, I’m going to start seeing how far in the drywall I can smash my head. You would think with the 3 time pro Bowl receiver Roddy White, and Tony, I never get old Gonzalez on the roster, you may be able to stretch the field a couple of plays a game.
2. Cody Ross= Stud
This one is going to be short, sweet, and to the point. Please inform the Atlanta Braves that you CAN make great in season moves, and pick up big hitting outfielders. The braves decided to go out and get the Big Bat of RICK ANKIEL, while the still in the playoffs Giants decided to pick up Cody Ross from the “You know everyone of our players is always available” Florida Marlins. Shocker they are still in the playoffs.
3. Cam Newton has already Made Room for his Heisman
Cam Newton proved that he is a baller, and has already made room for his Heisman trophy on his fireplace. The kid is a beast, and is easily running and passing through every team in the SEC. What makes it even better, is he left Florida after the worshiped Tim Tebow decided to come back for his senior year. That has to put a smile on everyone’s face that pulls for a team in the SEC East other than Florida.
4. BCS DOES GET IT RIGHT
The first BCS Standings were released, and they DID get it right. Oklahoma is ranked number one, followed by Oregon and then Boise State. After a week of having to hear that Boise State was going to be number one, they are third, which is about 4 spots higher than they need to be. See what happens when you play actual college football teams, you get rewarded. My only question, really, Auburn gets no love….?
5. Must See, JACKASS 3D and Social Network
Get out and go to the movies and go see JACKASS 3D, and the Social Network. Both make you feel really stupid, being that The Jackass Guys make millions for doing stupid things to their selves, and the kid who created Facebook made BILLIONS being drunk one night in his dorm room. Either way, they are def. worth the money to see.
6. Moondogs and Peachtree Tavern
Switched it up this weekend, and made a trip out to a couple of different bars in Buckhead to hear some good Music. Haven’t been to the Tavern or Moondogs in a while, but had a good time. Haven’t switched it up in a while, but it was fun, and I give both a solid grade of a B for talent level and prices.
7. Someone is going to DIE Soon
I took a big swig of Ice Cold Sweet Tea during the Falcons and Eagles game Sunday and spit it all over the floor when Dunta Robinson tried to take the head off of Receiver Desean Jackson. Honestly, I didn’t think there was a chance he would get up. I don’t know how, or what can be done, but if something isn’t changed on helmet to helmet collisions, someone is going to die in an NFL game very soon. The good news is both guys got up and were helped off the field, but both looked like they had no clue what planet they were walking on.
8. Good Hire Braves
I’m good with the Hire of Fredi Gonzalez. He has already said two things that I like to hear, We need more speed, and we need a big bat. That’s good enough for me so far…..
9. Baseball Playoffs, Good and Bad
I love Baseball, I love Playoff Baseball, but I also love football. Why try and compete if you are the MLB. People love to watch the NFL, why not make the games for the baseball playoffs during the week. I read a stat that during a playoff baseball game last Sunday night, TBS reports a 4.2 market share. For a Sunday night football game in SAN FRANSICO, the then0-4 49ers, Sunday night football and NBC reported a 12.3. So stop trying to compete, you got not chance vs. the NFL.
And last but certainly not least,
10. South Carolina, is still South Carolina
South Carolina football lit up ESPN and all media networks with their upset when over then #1 Alabama. Oh how things can change in just 7 days. The Gamecocks proved they are the same team they have always been. First they showed that they have all of their eggs in one basket with Marcus Lattimore. Lattimore was responsible for virtually all of the South Carolina offense in the first half, which resulted in 28 points. After spraining his ankle in the second half, the Gamecock offense was nonexistent. Steve Spurrier went from coach of the week to goat of the week after deciding to have Steven Garcia lob a toilet paper roll into the end zone to a redshirt freshman who I don’t think has put his mouthpiece in this year. #1, how about tell your quarterback to throw it to where only your receiver can get the ball, or don’t throw it at all. And #2, last time I checked, Alshon Jeffery was still on the roster. He may only be the best receiver in the SEC, why not throw it his way. Either way, things never change. At least Florida lost this weekend too, but if we play the way we did in the second half, we are going to get smoked in the swamp.
That is it for this week. I’m sure to have some good for you next Monday after a good Road trip to Nashville this weekend. Peace Out.

Coaching stupidity, some Falcons talk and put out that damn Cigart!
Having attended the University of South Carolina you could say im a big USC fan. I love Steve Spurrier. The guy is funny, obsurdly blunt and overall just a big bad ass. However, he blew the game for us on Saturday. South Carolina, having blown a 28-10 halftime lead is driving down the field for the game tying FG to send the game to overtime. With 2 timeouts left and the ball on the kentucky 45 yard line I feel pretty confident we are going to send it to OT. Thats when the brain fart happens. We complete a pass and get out of bounds. Clock is stopped. So what do we do? We get up to the line and blow a TO!!! OK fine, no big deal right. Well we comlpete about an 18 yard out and again get out of bounds with 11 seconds left around the 20 yard line. PERFECT!! Now we can run one more play and call a TO. Wrong. We blow ANOTHER TO and now have none with 11 seconds left. We either kick it now or take a chance throwing the ball for a first down or into the end zone. Spurrier has always been balls to the wall so im sitting their thinking hes going to go for the glory. He does. He designs a play where we throw the ball to I think our 5th receiver, some guy I have never heard of and the ball is intercepted. Game over! Welcome back to earth USC. A win against Kentucky and they have basically sealed the SEC east since Florida ends up losing at home to Mississippi State. Now South Carolina is in must win games leading up to the Florida game.
The Falcons flew into Philly yesterday for a big NFC battle with the Eagles and Mike Vick. Check that, Kevin Kolb. I am not going to bash the Falcons as I feel as if we have a very good team this year and we just played terrible yesterday. 4 of our first 6 games this year have been on the road and if you would of told me we would be 4-2 after those 6 I would be very happy. I am going to bash on Mularkey and the Falcon offense a little here. What I cant seem to understand is why the Falcons REFUSE to go to the no huddle offense sooner? Matt Ryan has proven over the 3 years he has been here that he can run that offense. His stats in the hurry up are very good. When we go down 14-0 its imperitive we get something going on offense. NOPE. Mularkey runs the same ole BS plays and we go 3 and out. MIX IT UP ALREADY. Im just a fan and when I can tell you whats coming before the play then Im pretty sure Defensive Coordinators who work 100+ hours each week sure as hell can. When was the last time we ran a reverse or something out of the ordinary like that? Its the same old run on first down, throw 5 yards on 2nd down and convert a 3rd and 4. Or maybe run on first down, run on second down and try and convert a 3rd and 6. We have a TON of offensive weapons and should be eating up chunks or yardage like the eagles do. Again, im happy where we stand at 4-2 but just dissapointed with the offense and the lack if creativity in ther play calling.
Friday night the Eagles were in town and seeing as the Eagles was on my bucket list I knew I had to go. I went down there with my wife and father in law and was pretty pumped about it. We get down there relatively early and hustle in to get some good seats. We get pretty far up and camp out right by the beer station. Jackpot! Not so fast. While being close to the beer is a good thing, its also a terrible thing. Everyone around you wants to get some beer, so that means they are going to be walking all over you to fill their alcohol need. At the beginning its not so bad. As the concert gets closer its starting to border on obsurd. Their is this guy next to us who is freaking HUGE! He is starting to get really pissed and literally looks like he is about to kill someone. After literally 2 hours of people constantly walking over us this guy has had enough. He stands up and yells "this isnt a f**king walkway!" About 10 seconds later this lady comes walking through and the dude literally chucks her over his shoulder! She hits the person behind us and just looks stunned. Right on cue "Your an asshole", "thats a lady", "big man you are" all start to ring out. Around the same time this awful smell of a mix between a cigar and a fart starts to fill the air. Sensing the tension Joe and I start making light of the Situatuon. "Would someone please put out that damn Cigart!" "Who is smoking the Cigart!" "Seriously that cigart smells awful!" At this point I am crying I am laughing so hard. No lie it smelled just like the mix between a Cuban and a fart. Im laughing right now thinking about it. The Eagles were off the chain and Jim Walsh is the man on guitar. The guy is like 65 and just rocks it. All in all absolutely good times

Braves have a new Skipper!! Free Agency check list.
I am excited to see that the Braves have chosen their next manager. It is going to be Fredi Gonzalez. You might recognize that name. He was the Braves 3B coach from 03-06 before taking the Marlins job. Gonzalez has shown he wont take any BS and I think with the Braves getting younger this is a good move. Bobby Cox was to busy being everyone best friend that it seemed at times that the Braves lacked accountability. Doggin it to first? Dont worry, Bobby has your back. Mistakes on the basepaths? Fugetta bout it. Fredi got fired as the Marlins manager bc he told Hanley Ramirez to hit the showers and that he wouldnt play again until he apologized to the team and fans. Since superstars run the sport the Marlins turn around and fire Gonzalez for pretty much no reason. Im going to go bold on this one. Fredi Gonzalez is going to win more World Series titles than Bobby Cox did before he is done managing the Braves.
The Braves are actually pretty well built but lack 1 major thing and another not to major component that if filled, could lead us to a very good year next year and years to come.
First: We need some kind of power hitting OF. I dont know what kind of money the Braves are going to have but with Chippers, Lowe and Hudson's contract expiring within the next few years they could backload a few contracts to get what we need. In an ideal world the Braves would sign Carl Crawford to play center and Adam Dunn to play left. Dunn is a defensive liamility but who cares. He is a gauranteed 35+ HR guy with an OBP of close to .400. Crawford is just a stud. hes only 29 and averages 14 HR, 14 Triples, almost 30 doubles, steals 38 bases a year and hits just below .300 every year. He would add speed and would help solidify our outfield.
Second: We need to add some speed. If Crawford is signed then that addresses the speed issue. The Braves of the last decade and a half really dont steal that much. I know that has alot to do with the way Bobby Cox managed but teams that have a threatening base stealer can manufacture runs without having to sacrifice outs. Example being stealing second as opposed to sacing him over. I know 1 guy coming over isnt going to all of a sudden make us this base stealing machine but it certainly helps. I know when we play teams like the Phillies (rollins, victorino), Marlins (bonifacio), Mets (reyes) and so on I get so nervous late in games when 1 of those guys gets on. I know they are a threat to swipe a base at any time.
I think we should excercise our player options on Alex Gonzalez and Infante. Resign Hinske and see if their is any trade value to Nate McLouth (i know everyone is laughing). Ankiel, who easily has the best nickname on the team-The Nature Boy) should be told to go and kick rocks. Let Freeman play first and tell Troy Glaus to go raise the bars on everyone's cell phones somewhere else. Resign David Ross if he isnt already. Bring in some kind of veteran for the BP since Wagner is gone and Kimbrell is the new closer. Seriously consider making Venters the closer if your not liking what Kimbrell is doing.
Pitching staff:
Hudson
Lowe
Hanson
Medlen
Minor
Jurjjens: Honestly try and trade Jurjjens. You are not going to get rid of Hanson and i think we could get a serious outfield bat for him. Of course, if we sign Dunn there is no need. I think the Dodgers would take him for Matt Kemp and that would be a great fit for us.
BP:
Moylan: Australian for sucks
Venters
Kimbrell
O'Flaherty
Dunn
Martinez
Kawakami ??
Starters:
C: McCann
1B: Freeman
2B: Prado
SS: Gonzalez
3B: Chipper, Infante
LF: Dunn/Hinske/Infante/Diaz/Kemp
CF: Crawford
RF: Heyward
Bench:
Ross
Hinske
Infante ?
Diaz
McLouth ?

College Football polls are already crap, Bobby Cox's final game and a few things that drive me crazy!
Everyone is waiting in suspense for the first release of the "BcS" rankings. All the talk is that Boise State is going to be the #1 team followed by Oregon and then Ohio State. It is an absolute sham that both TCU and Nebraska are higher in EVERY poll than Alabama. Who the hell has TCU played? Oregon State?!?!?! Big freaking woop. Nebraska? Washington? Please dont make me laugh. Alabama has played Penn State, Florida, Arkansas and South Carolina. TCU wont play that many quality teams in 3 years. Bama has played them in 5 games. The other travesty is Auburn. Another SEC squad who is behind both TCU and Nebraska. Did you know that its possible Nebraska doesnt play a ranked opponent all year until they would face Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game? Auburn has played and beaten South Carolina, Clemson, Kentucky (much better than people give them credit for) and Miss state (another team much better than people give them credit for). Here is the issue. You are rewarding teams who have terrible schedules JUST bc they started the season ranked higher! Boise doesnt have a single tough game left. Dont even try and tell me Nevada is good. They could play any of the top SEC schools at a neutral site and would get drubbed by 30+. The system is 100% flawed and we need to figure out some kind of 4 or 8 team playoff. The biggest money maker in college athletics is March Madness. Could you imagine having an 8 team playoff to determine the champion?!?!? It would be insane. The revenue that would be generated would trump March Madness. Wake up NCAA and get it done. Your about to have potentially 5 undefeateds and a few 1 loss teams from the SEC.
The Braves played a game last night im not sure if most of you knew that. It was Bobby's last game since the Braves got shutdown once again by a rookie who hasnt pitched in 2 weeks. DLOWE was on the mound and looked like a hot knife going through butter for the first 4 or 5 innings. Up comes Cody freaking Ross! the biggest Braves Killer outside of Chris Reitsma. BANG! Solo shot to left. Bye Bye Hideki No No and by bye lead. McCann comes right back and hits a bomb to put us back 2-1. Thats when the braves of old come out. Lowe gets into some trouble in the 7th. Cox comes out to take him out of the game but Lowe talks him into it. What a great players manager. Lowe walks the guy on 5 pitches and Bobby comes right back out to bring in Moylan: Australian for sucks. Moylan does what he does and gives up an infield hit to Juan Uribe which scores a run. Tie ball game 2-2. In comes Venters who strikes out Rowand for a huge out! SHIT! Here comes the hitting version of Chris Reitsma. I just new he was going to get a hit. Right on cue Ross singles to left and Matt Diaz is playing so deep he was eating a hotdog with some kid in section 132. Thank God Pat Burrell was running. He makes McCann look swift of foot. So now were down 3-2 with an inept offense. Im thinking, we better score in the 7th or 8th bc Blackbeard wont give up a run. We go down like a sweet muffin in both the 7th and 8th. Onto the 9th! Who do we have leading off? My boy Brooks Conrad. If their is ever a guy who needed something good to happen to him it was Conrad....annnddd can of corn to center. 1 out. Here comes the Nature boy. He walks bringing up back tat. Could we have another 2 run bomb? Nope. He walks. 1st and 2nd with 1 out. At this point I am starting to get excited again. I mean, we do have a ton of come from behind wins. Up comes Infante who goes down swinging. 2 outs and our season rests with Melky Cabrera. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA now i def. know its over. He hits a chopper to third and is thrown out. Game over. I would be lying if I said I was not somewhat sad for Bobby Cox. I like Bobby Cox. Always have. While i disagree with the way he handles a bullpen, the way his teams flounder in the playoffs, and the fact that I think he is overrated I still wanted to see him go out differently. I thought what the Giants did was very classy and shows a respect for the game.
A few things I read that make me crazy. There was a story out of Cincinatti where Pacman Jones was issued an apology by the Polic Chief for being questioned when he drove up on the curb to get around some pedestrians or something. He wasnt involved and did nothing wrong. Some folks snapped photos on theier camera phones saying Jones was getting arrested. Why the hell are they apologizing? The dude surrounds himself with trouble! Everywhere he goes something bad seems to happen. What does he expect? He came out and said he was dissapointed with the way it was portrayed. Sorry bro but how else would it be portrayed??
Caleb King was arrested for not showing up to court for unpaid parking tickets. Is this serious? You play football for one of the most highly recognized schools in the country and now your screwed bc you didnt go to court. Another story comes out (dont know if its true yet) that hes blackmailing this chick whom he borrowed $500 from. Apparentally he has naked pictures of her and promised to post them online if she asked him for the money again. He sounds like a real good dude. If this is true then he should be kicked off the team and someone should take him out back and kick his ass. Who does he think he is?
Brett Favre is texting his schlong to anyone who wants it. Once again, is he that dumb that he doesnt think someone is going to save the photo and turn him in? Does he really think he is going to get away with that? Brett Favre might be the biggest fraud in sports. The guy tries to act like hes this regular dude just chilling in my wrangler jeans. Your the biggest creep ever. Get over yourself and retire already. Stop leaving young chicks voice messages trying to use your southern charm. Your married bro! and now you have been exposed.

Brooks Conrad step off the ledge its not all your fault
Brooks Conrad is getting absolutely crushed in the "media" and its a total shame. Without this guy your not even in the playoffs. While I am very mad he booted that ball that cost us the game he does not deserve all the blame. The blame has to be split with the "almighty" Bobby Cox. I know, I know, I can't say a single word about Bobby Cox without everyone telling me im a hater, Bobby Cox is the man your an idiot or my personal favorite "You cant hold Bobbys jock."
Let me start by saying that holding Bobbys jockstrap is about the last thing on earth I would ever want to do. Brooks Conrad has shown over the last few weeks that he as a very poor defensive player. Whether its mental, hes hurt or whatever, he hasnt been able to consistantly make routine plays. So up comes back tat who hits the 2 run game changing Bomb down the right field line. Easily the third most clutch hit in Atlanta Braves history. The First being David Justice's bomb to win the World Series and the other being Francisco Cabrera's game winning single to send the Braves to the World Series in 1992. Now that we have the lead we should be doing everything we can to make sure we have the absolute best defensive lineup behind Kimbrell. McLouth is brought in Ankiel but Brooks Conrad remains in to play 2nd. I literally could not believe what I was seeing. No wait! Actually I can. Bobby Cox is showing his "Loyalty" and wanting to prove to everyone that he is smarter than everyone else. This loyalty you speak of, it cost us the series. Their is no way to know whether or not we would of won the game at that point as the game was tied but we sure as hell are about as done as you can be in the series. You dont come back from stuff like that. The emotional high that everyone had after the back tat blast was quickly lost with the 5 hole stunner from Conrad. Is it Conrads fault he can't field? Of course, but at the same time its a managers job to put his players and team in the best situation to win and Bobby Cox did not do that. What is so sad about all of this is that not one person on the radio or in the paper will say anything about Cox leaving him in. He gets a free pass just like he always has. This is so fitting that he is going out this way. Lets not even talk about making the move with Kimbrell. Kimbrell is your closer now. He is the heir apparent to Wagner and everyone in the organization is high on this kid. He throws absolute cheddar. Let him finish the inning. If hes your closer then let him be your closer. Aubrey Huff hits lefties better than he does righties. So for all your numbers guys out there explain that decision to me? You bring in a pitcher that the hitter has proven he hits better. Seems pretty logical to me.
I cannot cite specific examples of bobby doing this over the years but I know it has happened and it has happened at critical times. Everyone is so quick to defend this guy but the second anyone says anything about him your labeled a Braves Hater and a Bobby Cox hater. I dont hate Bobby Cox. I actually like the guy but he deserves to be called out for this. The decision he made put a guy in a terrible position and now he will be remembered as the guy who blew the series when in reality it should have never been that way. Again, without Brooks Conrad we are sitting at home watching reruns of Full House.
I got your back Conrad and I am calling it like I see it. Whatever, call me a Bobby hater but that move is indefensible yet somehow no one has said anything about it. Why? Because this is his last season so that makes it ok? Get out of here. This city lives for mediocrity. You think this flies in NY or Boston? Hell no. People would still be calling for Conrads head but they would call for the Managers as well.

Great comeback win! The Nature Boy!!
So im watching the Braves game last night and the announcer goes "Burrell has had good success against Hanson going 2-2". I turn to my wife and say "I bet he hits a 3 run jack and coke". BOOOMMM, pat the bat deposits one in the left field seats. I am instantly pissed and have written the game off. The Braves cant score and we would need 4 runs to win this game. Once the lead swells to 4 runs I have officially given up. I am very hard on the Braves and they deserve some credit here. The Braves of the last few years would of rolled over and lost 8 or 9 to 1. The team this year has shown that they don't give up. With the comeback win last night they now have 46 comeback wins this year. Thats crazy!
I was ready to scream when i saw that Troy Glaus was put in at 3B. He has played 2 games at 3B all year, so lets put him in in a HUGE playoff game! Im not going to get into it but I just dont understand the logic. Long story short it worked out and up comes the Nature Boy.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I heard it on tv as the Nature Boy was walking up to the plate. I don't think he is any good at all but man what a BOMB! That was freaking crushed and i was laughing so hard bc i had just sent a text comparing The Nature Boy to the one armed homeless man at the local church. If we end up winning this series then everyone needs to thank The Nature Boy. One swing has swung the momentum in our favor. We will have a big advantage in game 3 and 4 as we are dominant at home.
Contrary to popular belief I do like the Braves and I want to see them do well. GO BRAVES!

College Football News and Notes, Some NFL...Braves Playoff Talk
Anyone who knows me knows I live for College Football. I saw a couple of things on Saturday that really impressed me. First off, Alabama is the real deal and then some. They really look like men playing boys. Ingram's tired? No worries, here comes Trent Richardson! Stopping the run? I think I will throw it deep to the blackest Mexican you have ever seen Julio Jones. The defense only returned 3 starters? No problem. They just reloaded. Something interesting to think about. The 3 starters they did return are at all levels of the defense. Dareus on the D Line, Hightower with the Linebackers and Barron in the secondary. Throw in the fact you got a seasoned QB and the best coach in all of sports and your damn good.
I have to say that I am very impressed with Oregon. I know they really havent played anyone yet and there only "tough" game was a at home vs. an above average Stanford team. The offense is ridiculous. They lose Masoli before the season starts and they insert this Thomas kid who is lighting it up. They have some serious speed at the skill positions and the college football fan in me would love to see an Alabama/Oregon Nation Championship game!
I got something in the NFL and in football in general that drives me crazy! Im watching the GB/CHI game last Monday night and its 17-17 with Chicago on the 3 yard line with 1:15 left or so. GB has 2 TO's if I remember correctly. What should GB do?
A: Nothing. Let CHI bleed the clock and try and block the fg
B: Let them score. You will have over a minute left with 2 TO's to try and come down and tie the game
C: Look bewildered on the sideline like you arent sure what to do
GB chose a combination of A and C. Coaches get paid to make the best decisions in order to put your team in the best spot. Explain to me the logic in letting CHI bleed the clock down and kick the game winning FG with 2 seconds left? You have absolutely no shot of winning that game by doing that. Let them score!! You have Aaron Rodgers who is looking like one of the best QB's in the league. You would have just over a minute left with 2 TO's to drive down and tie the game! The odds favor letting them score in this situation 100% of the time. Yet, I cannot remember the last time I saw a coach let this happen. Do you really think a professional kicker is going to miss what is essentially an XP? And if he does it happens less than 1% of the time...your odds are much higher in trying to tie the game up with a TD.
The Braves travel to SF on Thursday to open the divion series against the Giants. DLowe will be on the mound in game 1 and has easily been the best pitcher the Braves have had over the last month or so. He has gone 5-0 with an ERA just over 1 in that month. Very impressive and hopefully this continues on Thursday. All we have to do is score 3 runs and we are more than likely going to win. The Giants offense is more anemic than ours. Pat "the bat" Burell and Buster "Parker" Posey are the only consistant HR threats. Kung Fu panda Pablo Sandoval is a doughnut shy of 3 hundy. The dude looks like an asian precious. Game 1 is going to determine the series IMO. If we can steal the first game thats a real kick to the balls of the Giants. I am assuming they are sending The Freak to the mound. We have already beaten him once this year. You have to get to him early as he seems to improve as the game goes on.

Braves Magic Number and Boby Cox supporters show your face and tell me im wrong
The Braves magic number is 2. Basically we just cant get swept by the Phillies. I dont see SD sweeping the Giants especially with the way their offense has performed over the last few weeks. I am still not sold on the way that we have been playing since scoring 3 runs feels like winning the lottery most nights, but at the same time I have to give some credit where credit is due and the Braves do deserve some for sweeping the Marlins. It would have been very easy to just win 2/3 since that is the MO of the Braves over the last few years. We knew we had to sweep and we did.
I have to critisize Bobby Cox some here. Why the hell was McCann not in the lineup on Wednesday? I dont care that its a night then day game scenario. The game was at 4:30 and we had an off day the next day! Of course i write something about this on facebook and everyone informs me at David Ross hit 3 doubles. Big freaking deal. That doesnt mean anything. You cannot be results based. Heres a great example. I played basketball in High School and our coach had this drill we ran where we got points based on how good the shot was regardless of whether it went in or not. A layup was 9, open jumper 7, contested 5 and a terrible shot was a 1. Lets say you take a terrible shot and it goes in. Does it make it ok that it was a terrible shot just bc it went in? Hell no! Its still a terrible shot and only worth 1 point! Same scenario here. Just bc Ross hit 3 doubles doesnt mean not playing McCann was the right move. It wasnt. You cant honestly look a Braves fan in the face and say that starting Ross over McCann gave us the best chance to win. You would be laughed at. This is the kind of crap that no one says anything about. It doesnt seem like a big deal bc we won but it is. How many times this year and in years past has Bobby sat McCann every day game after a night game? Almost every single time. Basically McCann is making Chipper Jones money bc he only plays in 3/4 of the games. 126 out of 159 games McCann has started and to my knowledge has not been hurt all year. I get it. Catching can be grueling. The problem is the Braves cant afford to not have his bat in the lineup on a daily basis. Another thing I want to ask is give me reasons why Bobby Cox is a great manager? Dont mention stuff he did as a GM bc I have heard that argument before and that doesnt count towards anything he has done as a manager. I want to know why everyone considers him this great manager? Here is your chance.
