Falcons Week 12 Recap and Top 5 in the NFC

The Falcons found themselves fighting for home field advantage in the NFC with a HUGE game against the Green Bay Packers. A win against the Packers and the Falcons would be in the drivers seat for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. As most of you know Matt Ryan is 19-1 at home as a starter and the Falcons have rarely lost at home over the last 3 years. Thus making Sundays game a HUGE one.

Quarterbacks: A

  • Matt Ryan was 24/28 for 197 yards and a score. If I'm not mistaken he was 14-14 in the 2nd half. That is 4 games in a row the Falcon offense has not turned the ball over. Ryan is completing 65% of his passes with 19 TD's to only 5 INT's. Against a Packers defense that leads the league in points against Ryan moved the Falcons up and down the field. Would be an A+ but we only scored 20 points.
Running Backs: A
  • Another Ho Hum day for Michael Turner. 23 rushes for 110 yards and a score. Sometimes Turner bothers me by the way he doesn't seem to hit the hole hard but I have to say that it is amazing how he ALWAYS seems to fall forward after the first hit. "I didn't like the way we tackled, but I knew coming in that (Turner) was going to be a challenge. He's so strong." - Packers DC Dom Capers
Wide Receivers: B
  • Tony Gonzalez had a couple nice grabs as did Roddy White. A solid performance across the board but would have liked to see a few more shots deep. Not necessarily the WR's fault but overall a good game.
Defense: A+
  • The Packers have one of the best offenses in the league and to hold them to only 17 points while turning them over at critical times is incredible. The play on the goal line against Rodgers as he was trying to sneak was one of the biggest plays this Falcons defense has made in years. As much as the bend but don't break motto bothers me its very true with these Falcons. Between the 20's the Falcons will allow you to move the ball but once you get inside their 20 they really stiffen up.

Bro Nameth's Power 5 of the NFC

  1. Atlanta Falcons: 9-2
  2. NY Giants: 7-4
  3. Chicago Bears: 8-3
  4. Philadelphia Eagles: 7-4
  5. NO Saints: 8-3
To not have the Falcons #1 is just dumb. Skip Clueless tried to say that the Falcons haven't beaten anyone of any value at home. I'm sorry, I didn't know the Ravens, Bucs and Packers weren't good. The 2 losses the Falcons have are against the Steelers and Eagles. Now the Steelers game was without Roethlisberger but the Steelers D is still the Steelers D. The game against the Eagles was bad I will give you that but they are still  very good team. The Falcons have also beat the Saints on the road. With 2 games left against the Panthers I would have to think that the Falcons have the clear cut advantage in the race for Home field Advantage.

Happy Crappy Monday Volume 7.0

Happy Crappy Monday Morning……Volume 7.0
The Thanksgiving Break is over, and now it’s on to counting down the Days until Christmas. This past weekend was an exceptionally good one for me, but I don’t know about the rest of you. Tons of things went down this weekend, and I’m going to do my best to recap what I think is the biggest moments of the weekend…..Happy Crappy Monday Morning Skeezers….
1.     I’ll accept your Apology Anytime Clemson……
First, let me begin by saying that anytime Clemson wants to call me and apologize, I’m willing to accept. My perfect prediction record comes to an end this past weekend, because I obviously game the Tigers too much credit. If you missed the prediction, A)Step your game up, and B) you can check it out by Clicking Here.
I tried to give the Tigers the benefit of the doubt, saying that they will put up 21 points. Well, other than a blown assignment by the South Carolina secondary, the Tigers couldn’t see the End Zone without Binoculars.
Yea, so they held the 18 year old Man-Child Laittimore under 100 yards Rushing. But how much credit can I actually give Clemson, considering Lattimore only carried the Ball 4 times in the second half. Why risk an injury to a Stud in a scrimmage?
I was right about thing this weekend. Alshon Jeffery yet again did his thing, in an “off night” for Jeffery, he pulled in 5 receptions, for 140 yards and a TD.
So Clemson, Text me, Email me, Hit me up on Facebook or Twitter, becauseI’ll be accepting apologies up until Thursday, at which point this matter is too small for me to worry about. Remember, the Gamecock Season isn’t over yet, we got a little thing called an SEC Championship to play for…..
2.     What a Weekend for College Football…..
I sat back and thought long on this, and I am going to say that this past weekend was the best college football weekend I have ever witnessed. I decided to take it easy Saturday night, and watch the Nevada vs. Boise State game. Turned out to be the best Football game I have ever watched. The game was an instant classic, and if you missed it, def. take some time to check it out.
3.     Stevie Johnson, you are Blaming the Wrong Person Bro….
So if you don’t know Stevie Johnson is, don’t worry you aren’t alone. But Stevie is about to become well known. The guy plays for the Buffalo Bills, in the NFL. Let me give you a quick recap on the Bills Season… They suck. But players still make Millions, and live a great life. Well, Johnson had a rough game yesterday. He dropped 5 passes, in a close game. But his 5th drop was in the end zone for a game winning TD in OT. Here is who he had to Blame:
1128_steve_johnson_twitter1128_steve_johnson_twitter
So you’re blessed with enough talent to make it to the National Football League. God has blessed you with a salary of $400,000 annually to play a GAME that you love. You need to check yourself Stevie, you’re messing with bigger issues than dropping a TD….

4.     The NEW Taylor Swift…..
I’m digging the new hair, keep it that way….
5.     Finally, the Boise State Talk is all Over….
I don’t want to take anything away from Nevada, they played a great game. But finally this game should put an end to all the critics who say that Boise State could hang week in and week out in the SEC. They have 2 tough games a year, and went 1-1 in those games. You can blame it on their place kicker if you want, but it wasn’t that guys fault. The fact is, you as a Boise State fan had made yourself delusional, thinking you were unstoppable. The funny part is during your tailgating Saturday; you were pulling for Bama to beat Auburn. But the fact of the matter is, the closest thing you’ll get to the BCS National Title game is sitting Indian style in front of your 42’ Plasma….
6.     Cortland Finnegan vs. Andre Johnson
If you missed this, it is a must see. Cortland Finnegan has gone on record saying he wants to be the dirtiest player in the game. What floats your boat Cortland, just be careful who you pick a fight with. Cortland pushed Andre to the limit Sunday, and Andre Johnson snapped. It is going to cost the guy a nice chunk of change, and maybe even a suspension. Number 1, shame on Andre for taking the bait, and getting ejected. On the other hand, there was only 7:00 minutes left in the 4th Quarter, and Finnegan deserved a beating… Check it out.
7.     Auburn Jumps to Number 1 in the BCS
Is this supposed to be surprising? Auburn plays in the SEC. They have a tough game week in and week out. They have beat LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, and South Carolina already this season. They deserve to be Number 1. And besides, South Carolina would rather them be a Number 1 team. After all, the school is 3-0 this season when facing a Number 1 team…

8.     BIG Dilemma
Come on really, the North Carolina vs. Kentucky Basketball game is the Saturday of the SEC Championship game? It would be a perfect sports day, if I wasn’t going to the SEC game. But since I am, it looks like the tailgate spot has to be set up with Satellite in position before the 12:30 tip off. I know it is early, but let’s be honest, this is always a game to watch.
9.     Happy Anniversary Tiger Woods
On this day last year, you had just caught a beating from your extremely hot, but not too hot to cheat on apparently wife. You got busted for dropping non golf related Hole in One’s when on your weekend tournament trips. Although you say that things worked out all for the better, I can’t help but wonder why a guy making roughly $100 million a year wouldn’t think to open up a second cell phone line, or even put the PIN CODE on your Iphone? Unless you were purposely trying to get caught, you have to be one of the dumbest Bro’s around….
10.     The Top 10 in the Top 10
Here it is, dedicated to the faithful GAMECOCKS who will be traveling to the ATL this weekend: Here is the TOP 10 MUST VISIT BARS, RESTARUANTS, AND ESTABLISHEMENTS YOU MUST VISIT WHILE IN ATL….
1.     THE CLERMONT LOUNGE- It is odd, it is in the basement of a Hotel, and it CAN be the most fun you’ll ever have. The key to this place… make sure you are HAMMERED before you enter. The Lounge is where Strippers go to retire. Make sure you buy canned beer, and make sure you get your can crushed for a dollar between the Boobs of a certain Stripper…TRUE STORY
2.     THE TAVERN AT PHIPPS – Amazing Food, Amazing Atmosphere, Amazing scenery. A great spot for a nice dinner and a couple of drinks before you go out on the town. Dress classy, and don’t expect to order a PBR. Keep your eyes open, because along with the gorgeous wait staff, you might see a couple of celebs enjoying a meal.
3.     5 PACES ATLANTA- Do you like Hole in the Wall Bars? Cheap Drinks? A Great DJ? Look no further than 5 Paces Atlanta. Guaranteed to be packed every night, and expect to relive your college days. Make sure you Ask for Tribble, and make sure you tell him Jason Shannon Sent you…
4.     PINK PONY-The Ultimate in late night Gentlemen Entertainment. The daughters of the elite in ATL line the stage of the Pony each and every night. Expect to pay a $2 “Parking Fee”, a $10 entry Fee, and $10 dances all night. KEEP YOUR GAME TICKET THOUGH, ALL GENTLEMEN ESTABLISHMENTS IN ATL ALLOW FREE ENTRY WITH A GAMEDAY TICKET. You can thank the Gamecocks for yet again for making it to the SEC Championship game.
5.     JOHNNY’S HIDEAWAY – One word for this Bar “COUGAR”. That’s right boys, all the Cougars you can ask for. Be prepared to walk in the bar and literally feel like a piece of meat. Go late night, doesn’t start to become fun until 1:45ish. Be sure to check with Butch for drinks, has a very heavy hand! And fellas, you should be ashamed of yourself for having no game if you have to open a tab.
6.     THE IVY –I Have already reviewed this place last Monday, but I recommend hitting it up. I myself will be there Friday night. Great Music, Damn good Scenery, and Talent. Dress it up, this ain’t the redneck bar down the street.
7.     FADO IRISH PUB- A great Irish pub right down town. Make sure to get there early, this is more of a Pre-Game, first drink kind of place. Also, the secret to this place is the upstairs rooftop Bar. It is on the third floor, but don’t worry, there are Bathrooms, Couches, Fireplaces, and TV’s up there. A nice spot to start the night off.
8.     EAST ANDREWS ATLANTA- A great atmosphere, almost like a small city inside a large building. There are multiple different bars inside, with the option to listen to live acoustic, or party in the courtyard to a DJ. Check it out, and enjoy.
9.     SHOUT& TWIST- Both places are Tapas Bars, with great food and drinks. Make sure you check out the Sushi menu, it is on point.
10.     STATS- If you don’t have a ticket to the game, there is a sports bar walking distance from The Dome. It has a great rooftop, and tons of TV’s. Also has your own personal beer tap on your table. BUT BE WARNED, taps are pressure sensitive. They charge you each time you touch the thing, TRUST ME.
Leave me your thoughts and comments on the facebook post…. See you all Friday morning Suckazzzzzz.

He cheated but DAMN that was fun to watch..Rivalry Saturday and this guys vote counts the same as yours

Hell yeah I took the money....prove it
Anyone who has followed the blog for the last few weeks knows how I feel about the whole Cam Newton situation. The guy cheated and its going to come out 3-4 years down the road and all the accolades of this season will be stripped. With that being said the comeback he lead today against a VERY good Alabama team is only going to strengthen the legend of Cam Newton

The game yesterday between Alabama and Auburn was epic. It was one of the best football games I have seen in a while and to be honest I called it "over" when Alabama made the game 24-0. I have watched a lot of football in my life and here is something you can bet on. Anytime a team is building a lead and they leave points on the field multiple times you can almost bet its going to come back and bite them. Mark Ingram is running in for a score essentially and the ball is popped out and fumbled through the end zone. Trent Richardson has a sure TD that falls just off his fingertips resulting in a FG instead of a touchdown. Thats a 10 point swing right there that ultimately looses them the game.

How about the testicular fortitude of Auburn and Cam Newton. Staring 24-0 in the face he leads an Auburn scoring drive just before half to cut the lead to 24-7. Alabama held Newton to -10 yards rushing on 9 attempts in the 1st half. NEGATIVE 10 yards!! That is almost borderline impossible. The guy should be able to fall forward for a yard every time. For Auburn and Newton to come out in the second half and DOMINATE Alabama on both sides of the ball was very impressive. Newton finished the game with 2 TD's throwing and 1 TD rushing strengthening his Heisman resume. At this point for Newton to NOT win the Heisman would be a tragedy. The only other player that has accomplished close to what he has on the field was the almighty Tim Tebow the year he won the Heisman. Barring 2 terrible games Newton will rush for 20 TD's and throw for close to 25 TD's.

RIVALRY SATURDAY

Some Predictions for my Bro Nameth Broheims:
  • South Carolina allows Clemson to hang around but pulls out a TD win 31-24
  • At least 2 Alabama fans hung themselves last night
  • Georgia lays a beatdown on GT...that pains me to say that but no way Al Groh's defense stops UGA
  • OK beats OK STATE because OK STATE doesn't play any defense. OK has the 13th ranked pass defense in the country
  • Arkansas beats LSU and Les Miles makes at least 2 dumb decisions.
  • Lou Holtz picks both S.Carolina and ND to win tonight....Shocker i know
His vote counts the same as yours

Shoutout to Jenna for showing me this video. Big ups to all the Bro Nameth Supporters who read on a daily basis.

Friday Free For All....Volume 6.0

Friday Free For All…..Volume 6.0
It was rough, but I managed to find some time to pull away from the Deep Fried Turkey and put together an article for everyone to read this Black Friday. After a great day of the Triple F’s, Food, Family, and Football, I’m looking forward to nothing more than great football matchups the rest of the weekend! From the Bro Nameth Family to yours, we hope your Thanksgiving was enjoyable, and that the rest of your weekend is relaxed and kicked back as can be. Enjoy the Friday Morning Free for All…..
Things I’m Thankful for…..
·     Marcus Lattimore- I’m thankful the kid decided to stay close to home and become a Gamecock. I’m looking forward to watching him develop the next couple of years!
·     Friends and Family- Friend and Family are the most important thing in life. I’ll go on record and say that I’m extremely rich in the area, and blessed to have some of the best friends and family a guy could ask for….
·     Coach Mike Smith- The guy has brought a whole new Attitude to the Atlanta Falcons. He brings in the players who are there to contribute to the team, and not cause any problem. He draft picks have been on point. He has the Falcons sitting Fat in first place in the NFC. A great stat- In the past 3 seasons, only Bill Belichick has more wins than Mike Smith…. That’s saying something….
·     I’m not the Atlanta Hawks- Special Shout out to Chris for this one. I’m glad I’m not the Hawks, who have to pay Joe Johnson $120 million over the next 5 years. He is the most OVERPAYED and OVERREATED player in the NBA  today…..
·     Bro Nameth Supporters- The more you guys read, the more we will write. We started out with a vision of wanting to have an outlet for people who watch sports to be able to say what they really want to say, and we are growing. Keep spreading the word, it means to world to us. On behalf of Chris and myself, we thank you….
Things other Teams and People should be Thankful for……
·     Oklahoma City Thunder- I’m pretty sure they are thankful for the Trailblazers taking Greg Oden number one overall. They ended up with a kid named Kevin Durant, who is only averaging 28 points a game. Oh yea, Oden is out for the season again….
·     New England Patriots- I’m pretty sure ol Belichick is enjoying a nice fat turkey leg after the slaying of the Detroit Lions yesterday. He is also probably planning what to do with the Third Round Pick he jacked from the Vikings in exchange for Randy Moss. People thought he was nuts for making the trade….looks like it turned out pretty well for him…..
·     Derrick Fisher – I’m sure Derrick is Thankful for deciding not to make the more to Miami, and instead stay with Kobe and Company. Miami is decent, and The Lakers look like they  are again on their way to the Finals….
·     Josh Hamilton- If anyone has anything to be Thankful for, it is Josh Hamilton. He was originally a Number 1 overall pick, but his career spiraled quickly out of control. The kid sat out of baseball for 3 years due to a drug problem. He finally got his life together, got sober and clean, and started training again. This year, he made it to the World Series, and added an MVP to his trophy case. Mad Props to J-Ham, he is def. a Bro….
·     MV7- Michael Vick…. I think even he is willing to admit that getting busted and spending time in the big house is the best thing that could have happened to him. He got is life in order, and now is playing the best football in his career….
·     Wayde Phillips- Look, everyone knew he was going to bet the boot sometime this season, he just needs to be Thankful that Jerry gave him the opportunity to be able to be home this Thanksgiving instead of working. All I’m saying is at least he got his walking papers before Thanksgiving....
Biggest Prediction for the Weekend:
I tried, I really tried, to give Brad “Chilly” Childress the heads up that the ax would be coming down on him this past Tuesday. Go back and Check it out, I predicted the Pack would lay the smackdown on the Vikes, and that “Chilly” would be standing in unemployment line by Tuesday. Well, I’ve got another prediction for you for the upcoming weekend.
I think that Saturday’s game between that other school in the upstate and South Carolina is going to be closer than most people think. The final score is going to be within 7 points, and I think South Carolina will put together back to back against Clemson. Final Score, looks like it’s going to be 28-21.
A couple of other predictions, Marcus Lattimore breaks the SEC freshmen record for touchdowns, tacking on 2 more this weekend. Also, your boy Jeffery finds the end zone as well.
----Youtube Clips of the week:
A couple of solid youtube clips of the week. First off, if you watched the Lions vs. Pats game yesterday for Thanksgiving, there was a solid segment CBS ran involving the life of fallen Bengal Chris Henry. Chris got into some trouble at times, but this clip was really interesting and I guarantee you will drop a tear or 2. Be sure to give it a watch. TAKE THE TIME TO WATCH THIS CLIP, SERIOUSLY…….
The second clip is dedicated to the d-bags who attempted to fry a turkey this year, and were unsuccessful. Here is what happens if you do not take the required steps to make sure your turkey frying experience goes the right way.
--Shout-Outs for the Weekend
·     Joe Paterno- Shout out for deciding to come back again next year. You made that school what it is today, and you should be able to coach as long as you want to.
·     Ohio State University President- Big Props for coming out and saying on record that TCU and Boise State need to schedule some actual teams in order to play for the National Championship. I do however give Boise State some credit, they are traveling to the deep south to open next season again those Georgia Bulldogs.
·     Anyone coming to ATL this weekend- It is going to be epic, if you aren’t coming, you should…
·     BG- The only person that makes sure they tell me they are mad every Friday morning when they see they don’t have a shout out. I think you should have definitely changed you plans Wednesday night; you would have had more fun. Also, no rain boots next week, so pick a night.
·     Meghan- You gave me an idea when you said you wanted to help with one of the top 10’s. So if anyone has a top 10 list suggestion they want to see for Monday Mornings, feel free to comment and I’ll do my best to knock it out….
·     Justice Malone- You single handedly took Bro Nameth Sports to a higher level last week. Keep it up, and keep sticking it to the man…
As always, it’s been a pleasure. Leave a comment if you disagree with anything I got to say, and I’ll prove to you why you are wrong….. Check in again Monday Suckazzzzz.

Atlanta Falcons Week 11 Grades and Week 12 Preview

The Falcons went on the road to face an up and coming Rams team led by #1 overall pick Sam Bradford. This was a game the Falcons needed to win in order to maintain their lead for home field advantage in the playoffs. With the way the Falcons dominate at home every game we win on the road is almost worth 2.

Quarterback: B+
  • Matt Ryan the last 3 weeks has ZERO turnovers. In fact, the falcons team has ZERO turnovers. Ryan was 26/39 for 253 yards and 2 scores. I am sure Im not the only one that has noticed this but Mularkey seems to be opening up the playbook more for Ryan on the road. It always seemed like to me that Ryan was babied in road games and would take shots only at home. The last few weeks Ryan has been incredible and if we continue to get play like this from him the Falcons are a legit Super Bowl Threat
Running Backs: B+
  • Just another typical Michael Turner day. 28 carries for 131 and a score. The balance that the Falcons are showing right now is fantastic. Turner gets 28 carries and Ryan completes 26 passes. I would like to see Jason Snelling get some more touches as I like what he brings to the table. After the Moore INT the falcons did what all good teams do; shove it down their throats. Turner busts out a 39 yard TD run to send the Rams packing.
Wide Receivers: A
  • Its pretty sweet when 2 guys catch TD passes and neither of them are Roddy White or Tony Gonzalez. Brian Finneran made a nice leaping catch in the 2nd quarter to tie the game at 10. The Rams opened the 3rd quarter with a TD on their opening drive but the Falcons came right back down and retook the lead on a 2 yard Jason Peele TD catch. Roddy White had another RW day catching 9 balls for 84 yards. He didn't get in the end zone which sucks for me since I have him in 5 fantasy leagues but all is well.
Defense: B
  • The defense for most of the afternoon was fantastic. They held Steven Jackson to only 55yards on 11 carries. Now that is a decent average but as whole played the run pretty well. There is one thing you could have bet your life on this game, and that was that the Falcon D was going to try and pressure the rookie QB. While not recording a sack, the defense did have 5 TFL and 7 passes defensed. My boy Brent Grimes had a good day with 3 passes defensed and William Moore came up with a HUGE interception to essentially wrap it up.
Overall: B
  • I was very pleased with the game and will always take the W. This was a game in the past that the Falcons would come out sleepwalking and lose. Not anymore. Mike Smith has instilled a different mentality into this team. I am very excited about the Packers rolling into town this Sunday.
Atlanta Falcons vs. GB Packers Preview

The Falcons go into Sundays game with the best record in the NFC (8-2). The Packers are not far behind at 7-3. The Falcons surprisingly are 6th in the league in YPG at 371.4 and the Packers are only 13th at almost 348 YPG. I know this is cliche/obvious but the keyy is going to be stopping the Packers throwing attack and 3rd down. The Falcons are almost dead last in getting off the field on 3rd down while the packers are in the Top 10. The thing that is scary regarding GB is 3rd and 8 or 9 is really not all that bad when you have Greg Jennings and Donald Driver going out for passes. I heard a stat on the radio this morning that Aaron Rodgers is averaging 5.7 yards per rush this season! That's incredible for a QB not named Mike Vick.

Did you know that Matt Ryan has NOT been sacked in 3 of the last 4 games? The Packers come in with Clay Matthews having 11.5 sacks himself. If the Falcons can keep Matt Ryan upright I think we have a great chance to win. As frustrating as it is sometimes to methodically move down the field and chew up 9 minutes to kick a fg, this could be really huge for us against the pack. Im about to drop some ESPN type analysis on you: "The longer we have the ball, the less the packers do". I know what your all thinking...arent I going to credit Steve Young or Merril Hodge for that brilliant quote? Nope, but they get paid to say things moronic like that and in this case its very true. If the Falcons can possess the ball for over 35 minutes they will win this game.

Weekly BWA's, some NEW AWARDS and the NEW Ray lewis

Thats not what your GF said last night
Get these bruh's some Snickers because they are playing like Betty White!
  1. The Denver Broncos and Josh McDaniels. McDaniels drafted Timothy Tebow in the first round! He should be fired right now. The Broncos got absolutely manhandled last nighy by Crybaby Mcgee Phillip Rivers and the rest of the Chargers. The Broncos used to be half decent and now they need a big ass snickers.
  2. The Miami Heat. Are you kidding me? 8-6? So much for going 72-10. I have said from the get go this will be the worst mistake Lebron makes in his entire life. Chris Bosh is probobly the most overrated player in the league and Lebron needs a team where he can do whatever he wants. You have to much star power on one team and this team wont even make it out of the East. Snack up Miami!
  3. Antonio Margarito. You just got destroyed my friend. Hows that eye socket holding up? If the answer is not very good then your right. Pac absolutely beat you to a pulp. You outweighed my boy Pac by 30 pounds and he absolutely laid a beatdown on you. Mayweather show your face.
  4. The Minnesota Vikings! WOW....really? You basically have the same team as last year and you are just terrible. Who let the dongs out? Favre did and doesnt really care if you know. DongGate 2010? You betcha. I dont understand how a team with soooo many weapons on offense is so bad? Adrian Peterson should be toting the rock 35 times a game. The defense is basically non existant and have given up over 21 points in 7 staright games. Its no longer chilly in Minnesota but its not going to matter I dont think.
The New Award being added this week if the 5 Hour Energy Award. This Award will go to a person or team who needs to get rid of that 2:30 feeling.
  • Pretty easy choice this week....Your hometown Atlanta Hawks. After starting the year 6-0 and everyone feeling good, you have lost 6 of 8 and got absolutely drilled last night by the Boston Celtics. The game was over 9 minutes in. **SHOCKER** Joe Johnson was nowhere to be found. I know thats tough for a lot of people to believe because JJ is always carrying the team. Oh wait no he doesn't. Hes on the bench wiping his sweat off with crisp $100 bills. Someone needs to tell the team that you dont get paid to play hard 75% of the time. In the past it used to be that the Hawks only did this on the road. Not anymore! You were drubbed by Milwaukee a couple weeks back and lost by 20+ to the Celtics in a game where they could have waxed you by 40. I know its early and we are still 8-6 but this act of picking and choosing when you want to play hard is really testing my patience. EARN YOUR PAYCHECK AND HAVE SOME PRIDE.
Shout out to Luke Warm for sending this video over....Looks like Ray Lewis has an offspring crushing people on the football field. Enjoy...

Happy Crappy Monday Volume 6

Happy Crappy Monday Morning……

It is Thanksgiving week people, which means although it is a crappy Monday Morning, most of us only have a couple of days of work this week, then a long weekend ahead. Most people I know are looking forward to Drinks Wednesday night, Turkey Day Thursday, Shop til you drop Friday, and Rivalry football Friday. So happy Turkey day to all, and enjoy. Here is your Top Ten for the week.

1. Dirty Birdz are Rolling….

Don’t look now, but the Dirty Birdz are 8-2. They are doing something this season that they have struggled to do the past couple of years, and that is win on the road. It’s not pretty, but a win is a win. Matty Ice continues to impress, throwing for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns. Michael Turner, racks up another 131 yards and a touchdown himself. Roddy White seems to be on pace to have somewhere around 150 receptions, adding another 9 this game. Next week, the Birdz have a huge game against a much improved Packers team.

2. What out for the other Bulldogs…

Maybe not this year, and it might not be next year, but the Mississippi State Bulldogs are going to be a nasty team for the years to come. Dan Mullen has completely changed the attitude in Starkville, and he has his kids believing they can compete with anyone. SEC East teams rotate who they play from the West, and in the past, you would be overjoyed to see the Mississippi State Bulldogs pop up on the schedule. Not anymore, I think coach Mullen should be in the running for Coach of the year in the SEC for the turnaround he has had with that program.

3. Jimmie Johnson wins 5 straight NASCAR Championships…

Jimmie Johnson has won his 5th Championship in a row in NASCAR. Although it’s NASCAR, winning 5 Championships in a row in anything is impressive, not that I or anyone else I know watched any part of his season.

4. Richard Seymour Bitch Slaps Roethlisberger….

It looks like the chick in Milledgville, GA isn’t the only one who is tired of Ben Roethlisberger’s crap. Richard Seymour apparently had enough of it this weekend, as he bitch slapped Ben like a $20 Hooker. Seymour was ejected from the game, and I got news for him, he should expect to cut a check to the NFL for about $50,000. In case you missed, here is the clip:

5. The IVY in Buckhead….

Checked out a new spot on Roswell Road Saturday night, The Ivy, and I highly recommend getting brotivated there. I like to rate Bars and Restaurants in 5 categories from 1-10, adding up the totals, and 50 being a perfect score. Categories are: Atmosphere, Talent Level, Cheddar Factor, Drink accessibility, and Playlist.

Atmosphere- 8…… Pretty good atmosphere in this place. Multiple rooms and levels to enjoy. There is a wide variety of booths, tables, couches, and sitting areas. Also orders all big fights on the many 50’ Plasmas around the place. Had to wait in a short line to get in, but no cover, and line moved pretty quickly.

Talent Level 9…… This one is pretty easy to explain, there were lots of girls there, and 80% of them were dimes. It was about a 50,50 ratio, which isn’t the best, but at least the majority were top shelf.

Cheddar Factor 7….. Prices are sometimes the key to a good spot. The drink prices at Ivy aren’t bad at all. $3.50 beers, $6 liquors. Shots weren’t bad either.

Drink Accessibility 6..... The place consists of one large bar in the middle of the place, and an outdoor cabana bar. There would They would have gotten a 4 for this category, considering you couldn’t even remotely get to the middle bar, and the fact that you had to walk outside to the other bar just blows. However, a cash only bar was discovered in the back of the place, with no line, and easy access. My suggestions, bring cash, and head to the back for drinks.

Playlist 10….. Capping off the categories is Playlist, and the Ivy gets a perfect score here. DJ did a great job of mixing it up, playing new rap hits, and sometimes smashing them with some old school flavor. He knew when the place needed a slow down, and he knew when it was time to kick the atmosphere up a notch….

Final Score= 40…. Meaning check it out, and be ready to have some fun. If you are a part of the entourage that is going to be crashing at my crib for the SEC Championship weekend, plan on seeing for yourself first hand Friday, December 3rd.

6. Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block…

Really, these guys are still trying to perform. You’ve got the Backstreet boys, who can’t handle the fact that the 90’s are over, and The New Kids On the Block, who I honestly didn’t know if all members were still alive. They performed together at the AMA awards last night to close out the show. Really, of all the great artist and performers in the country, your Grand Finale is that combo? Step your game up AMA’s, that performance was about as cool as Herpes.

7. Blake Griffin Posterizing…

I think Blake Griffin finally realized although he is playing in the NBA in Los Angeles, he actually plays for what should be the D-League Clippers, and not the defending champion Lakers. Since this realization, he decided to take his anger out on the entire Knicks team. Just ask Timofey Mozgov, the Center for the Knicks, who now has an opportunity to be a poster on the walls of many kids in the USA, thanks to Blake. If you missed it, here it is:

8. Remember how accurate I was last week, well…..

So I made a prediction Last Friday morning on what it would take for the Gamecocks to upset the Gators and win the East. I hit the nail on the head, and was 100% perfect. Last Friday, I make another prediction, which can be viewed by clicking here. So far, I’m 50% accurate, being that the Packers slayed the Vikings. We’ll have to wait until Tuesday to see if Chilly is going to stay in Minnesota…..

9. Fried Turkey Time….

There is only one way to eat Turkey in my opinion, and that way is fried turkey. I have a great recipe my family has been using for about 15 years now. I cook one for my fellow bro Chris and he fell in love. Shoot me a comment on facebook, and I’ll be glad to hook you up with the recipe.

10. The Top 10 in the Top 10

In honor of this past week’s events, I have outlined my top 10 Biggest Draft Bust of all time. No particular order. Enjoy, and let me know if you agree or disagree.

1. JAMARCUS RUSSELL (#1 overall) 2007 Raiders- Overweight, terrible work ethic, and absolutely no character. That’s exactly who I would draft #1 overall and guarantee $39 million to. Another great decision by Al Davis.

2. RYAN LEAF- (#2 overall) 1998 San Diego Chargers- Back in 1998, the Colts had a choice they were wrestling with: Take Ryan Leaf #1, or a guy named Peighton Manning. The colts took Manning, the Chargers jumped on Leaf, and the rest is history. Leaf disappeared out of the league faster than a virgin on prom night.

3. GREG ODEN (#1 overall) 2007 Portland Trailblazers- The kid looked like he was 40 in high school. Had a great year at Ohio State, but has only played 84 games in three seasons. Can’t stay healthy, is already out for this entire season, and to make it worse, they passed on a guy named Kevin Durant to take Oden.

4. SAM BOWIE (#2 overall) 1984 Portland Trailblazers- Look, Sam didn’t have a bad career. The reason he makes the list is because of who the 3rd overall pick was that day, a guy named Michael Jordan.

5. DARKO MILICIC (#2 overall) 2003 Detroit Pistons- He might end up having a good career, maybe, but I know a couple of guys who were drafted after him def. will. Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh were all passed up on by Detroit.

6. JOSH HAMILTON (#1 overall) 1999 Tampa Bay Rays- Don’t get all pissy, I know what you are thinking, Josh Hamilton is a stud. Yes he is, but he was drafted by the Rays, taken over Barry Zito, Ben Sheets, Josh Beckett and Brett Meyers. He then started to become MIA, and was subsequently suspended by the MLB for the 2004, 2005, and 2006 seasons. He did absolutely nothing for the Rays.

7. CHARLES RODGERS (#2 overall) 2003 Detroit Lions- You should have known from the start he was a bust, he was drafted by the Lions. Had a promising first couple of games, scoring 3 touchdowns in his first 2 games. After that, broke his collar bone 2 years in a row, before being suspended for that Substance Abuse Rule the NFL has in place.

8. KWAME BROWN- (#1 overall) 2001 Washington Wizards- First pick under the Air Jordan Regime and MJ wasn’t very brotivated when he made this pick. Kwame was taken out of high school over guys like Pau Gasol, Jason Richardson, Richard Jefferson, and Tony Parker.

9. JOEY HARRINGTON- (#3 overall) 2002 Detroit Lions- Oh the Lions, they just cant get it right. Harrington was suppose to be the savior in Detroit, but as their picks usually go, he was a bust. Harrington was taken over guys like Bryant McKinney, Roy Williams (The good one), Dwight Freeney, Albert Haynesworth, and Ed Reed.

10. TIM COUCH – (#1 overall) 1999 Cleveland Browns- Tim was a stud in college, but never amounted to squat in the Pros. A couple of other players who were passed up by Cleveland did turn out being stars. Guys like Donavan McNabb, Edgerrin James, Champ Bailey, and Dre Bly. Oh yea, a guy named Donald Driver wasn’t drafted until the 7th round.

That’s it boys and girls. I’ll keep everyone posted on a Friday Morning Free for All this week. If I seem to be able to pull myself away from Turkey and football long enough Thursday, then I will. Until then, enjoy Turkey Day Skeezers, and Enjoy the short week……

Friday Free For All Volume 5.0

Friday Free For All…..Volume 5.0
By: Jason Shannon
Good afternoon all you Bro Nameth Supporters, It’s your boy Shannon with another great lunch addition of the Friday Free for All. The temperature has changed, the holidays are just around the corner, and the weekend is upon us. It is time to kick back for a weekend of decent college football, with a good Ol American Brewhaha in hand. This week’s Free For all looks a little different, mainly because there isn’t much I’m looking forward to this weekend, and a lot stuff seemed to piss me off this week. Either way, instead of the work you should be doing, read the Free For All, and enjoy.
----Number 1 Think I’m looking forward to this weekend:
Tonight, I’m going to check out the Roswell High School’s second round playoff game against Collins Hill. I know it is only high school football, but football is football. There is something about putting on layers of clothes and watching 2 teams do battle in freezing cold weather, regardless of how old or how big the schools are. Some family came in to the good ol ATL to visit, so I’m looking forward to catching up with them and watching the Roswell Hornets do work.
---Lots of things that have pissed me off this week:
1.     The D-Bag in Cleveland that beat up the 8 year old Kid:
So if you haven’t heard the story, this D-Bag Browns fan got hammered at the game this past weekend and tackled an 8 year old kid to the sidewalk after the Jets beat the Browns. The kid got scratched up and bruised, all because he was wearing his favorite team (The Jets) jersey. First of all, the cock face is a Browns fan, which automatically makes him one of the biggest losers in the country. Second, if you are going to talk shit to the other team’s fans, grow a pair and talk shit to someone that is taller than your waist. This guy should catch an ass beating of a lifetime.  Not only is he a D-Bag, but so is every other Browns fan that stood around and watched this go down.
2.     Nancy Lieberman coaching an NBA team:
Look, I’m all for women’s equal rights, Title 9, and all that other politically correct jazz, but this has got to be a joke. You mean to tell me that this female is going to be tough enough to coach in the NBA D league. I’m not sure if this is for publicity, or if they are serious, but I can’t see a 5’9’’ woman getting angry and demanding discipline from a group of 6’10’’ men. I have nothing against female coaches; I think Pat Summitt is one of the best coaches and motivators in the country. But this is ridiculous.
3.     ESPN- You’re a Sports News Channel,  not TMZ-
Since when does ESPN cover marriages and divorces? Explain to me how Tony Parker and Eva Longoria getting divorced is going to affect the San Antonio Spurs? It isn’t, so stop broadcasting it on Sports center. Look, Eva is banging, don’t get me wrong, but I could care less about their marriage. And while I’m on that subject, Longoria is requesting from the judge spousal support from Tony? Really, like the $1,000,000 per episode she receives from Desperate House Whores isn’t enough to cover your expenses? ESPN, get your act together, and as for Tony and Eva, good luck going your separate ways.
4.     Bernard Hopkins, you’re and idiot-
Bernard Hopkins goes on the record running his mouth and says “He hasn't faced any top-notch black fighter,” referring to Manny Pacquiao. I see you running your mouth Hopkins, but I don’t see you signing up for a beat down. As a matter of fact, I don’t see anyone signing up for a beat down. First of all, Manny has tried to fight Mayweather, and last time I checked, he is an African American. But it seems like Mayweather always finds a reason to pull out of the fight. When’s the last time you fought anyway?
Biggest Prediction for the Weekend:
Write it down, take a picture, I don’t give a &*%@. Here is my on point prediction for the weekend.  Green Bay gives the Vikings the business, 35-24 this weekend, and Brad Childress is standing in the unemployment line by Tuesday of next week…. Mark my words…
----Youtube Clips of the week:
It’s time to Rock out with your Gamecock out Baby…..

Big thanks to Rupert Pupkin for sending this one along, this kid is Sick Nasty…..

--Shout-Outs for the Weekend
·     Albert Wilson– Shout out to the Georgia State Panther who ran a kickoff back on Alabama 97 yards.
·     Roy Holliday- Cy Young winner, you deserve it when you throw a No-No and a Perfecto in the same year
·     Your Pie Pizza- Ate there for lunch today, it was on point…it is in Roswell, check it out.
·     The Big Ten- Shout out to the Big Ten for planning a game at Wrigley field, only the field is too small, and they can only use one football end zone in the game. Way to plan that accordingly.
·     Patrick Patterson- Way to leave school your junior year for the NBA, only to be sent down to the D-League. Stay in school bro.
·     Bruce Pearl- Dude if you are going to lie about texting and calling recruits, cover it up better, now you got to sit out the first 8 SEC games.
·     Big Grady Jackson- Grady had an arrest warrant issued for his arrest today. Good luck hiding, he is 6’2’’ and weighs about as much as a Volkswagen Beetle…
·     Steve Spurrier- It’s about time you earned that Paydirt…..
·     Dan “Yo Mamma is” Uggla- Welcome to the Atl big man, welcome.
·     SCHMEE- Shout out to coolest pirate I know, not only for supporting Bro Nameth, but for laying a beating on your husband for picking football. You are handing it to him. You should actually let JD start picking too, he might actually pick better than  Chris.
As always, it’s been a pleasure. Leave a comment if you disagree with anything I got to say, and I’ll prove to you why you are wrong….. Check in again Monday Suckazzzzz.

Frank Wren is a beast. Absolute Beast. In case you havent heard the Braves traded for Dan "Yo Momma is" Uggla the other day for Omar "Gooding" Infante and Mike Dunn. Uggla has averaged 32 HR and 97 RBI's a season in his 5 seasons in the pros. Considering we gave up a BP reliever and a glorified journeyman I would say this is an absolute steal. The Braves have added a MUCH needed power bat and with a TON of money coming off the books next year Uggla will get signed to a 4-5 year deal. We have given ourselves a pretty strong core of younger players that could allow the Braves to make a run at it every year for the next 6-7 years. I have been pretty hard on Frank Wren but what a great trade!
